Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I am undertaking a walking challenge in Malawi, in 2022, in aid of St Luke's Hospice and hope to raise at least £2000 for the charity.

The climb itself is a 3 day hike up Mount Mulanje; known as the island in the sky, the highest peak reaching just over over 3000m. It's going to be a challenging hike as it is known that the climate changes as you move through the different parts of the mountain.

I realise this is a huge amount of money so I shall be doing a number of smaller challenges and events along the way to ensure you really get your pound's worth of flesh, sweat and tears from me. If you can donate any small amount of pennies or pounds I would be hugely grateful and I know the charity would be even more so!

St Luke's Hospice really is a fantastic charity that I am fortunate enough to work alongside and, therefore, have seen for myself the difference they make to people and their families when they need it most.

For anyone that isn't familiar with St Luke's; they are an independent charity providing essential support to people with progressive life-limiting illnesses in Plymouth, South West Devon and East Cornwall.

The hiking challenge in Malawi, I hope, will be a once in a lifetime experience which I feel extremely fortunate to be able to undertake and for that reason I shall not be raising any money to help fund the trip. Therefore, you can be assured that 100% of the money you kindly donate will be going straight to the charity itself.

As previously mentioned, I shall be undertaking a number of challenges and raising money in any way I can. The first challenge I have set myself is the St. Luke's Landmark challenge... whereby throughout June I plan to walk, cycle, run (or even row) the equivalent mileage from Plymouth to Big Ben which totals 213 miles! This will be quite a large challenge in itself as, at present, I am only averaging a mere 120 miles a month in total number of steps and exercise... so I really need to up my game!!

My next challenge will be the 15 mile midnight walk and then we'll go from there.

I shall update on this page as and when I commit to my next challenge/ event, so please follow me. I appreciate every single like, share and kind comment. St Luke's is a charity I truly believe in and if nothing else I hope to raise awareness of some of the brilliant work they do.
