Story
Dear Family and Friends,
On July 15, my father and I will be attempting to climb Mount Blanc, the tallest mountain in Europe in two teams, me and my dad and Sony and David Douer. When I first decided to climb Mount Blanc, I didn’t realize how much commitment; time and effort would be needed to prepare for this trip. Since May, we have been training both physically and mentally for the difficult task of reaching the summit of nearly 16,000 feet.
We will be away for a total of five days including training and the actual climb. These days will include climbing various smaller summits and spending one night at a refuge hut which is required in order to acclimatize to the altitude. The long trek includes difficult passages and the hazard of rock slides on a snowy and icy terrain. We have expert guides to help us reach this towering goal as well as specialized equipment. This experience shared with my father will be an unforgettable adventure!
Although this is an arduous task, we are both excited to do this challenge together while at the same time raising money for a charity I am very involved in called Jewish Blind & Disabled. I have raised money for them in the past and they are a charity close to my heart as they not only support the blind, but they are equally supportive towards the deaf. I have significant hearing loss in my right ear and can really relate to this wonderful cause. Although I only have a slight difficulty, I can easily sympathise and understand how frustrating and debilitating being deaf is. Jewish Blind & Disabled is the only Jewish charity providing state-of-the-art mobility apartments for people from the age of 18 upwards who are physically disabled or vision impaired.
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page and any amount would be greatly appreciated and put to good use.
I hope you will help me make a difference by supporting this tremendous charity.
Yours Faithfully,
Sophia Breslauer
