Children's Challenge 2016 · 10 November 2016 ·

We want every child in the UK with a neurodisability like cerebral palsy - and their families - to have access to learning and life changing therapy, aligned with our Pace approach. Our specialist clinical, education and therapy teams work with babies, children & young people from 0-18.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

The Children's Challenge is Pace's version of the Paralympics!  The children at Pace are all unique, and as such, each child is given an individual challenge to over-come, which is tailored for their own particular disability.

In my case, my legs don't work so well, my hips are not put together right and my feet don't really do what I tell them to do most of the time. Obviously this makes walking extremely difficult and so my challenge is this:

Walk 2 metres in my walker, I then have to grab a "javelin" and pop a balloon with it, and then walk back.

So, that's my challenge!  Sounds simple, hey?  Not for me, my cerebral Palsy makes that extremely tricky and totally exhausting.
It'll be a bit like a normal person trying to walk 2 kilometers on their hands, with their thumbs tied together.  Can you even imagine that?

Pace have helped me so much in reaching this point, far beyond what I started at, but I still have a long way to go, as do the many other children
that Pace helps and teaches.

With your money, Pace can continue it's good work, helping children like me to grow, develop, learn and strive towards the possibility of an independent life, or some measure of control and ability to do what most children take for granted, such as walking, feeding themselves, or just sitting up independently.

Please give generously, every penny matters!

Thank you,

Love Sophie xxx
