Story

My friend Guy was diagnosed with leukemia on 28th November 2019.
This is a type of cancer that affects the blood.
Guy had three rounds of Chemotherapy to try to eradicate the cancer but each time it came back.
His last hope was a bone marrow transplant from his youngest son Joshua. This happened on the 24th April 2020 and kept the cancer at bay until early January 2021 now sadly he has relapsed. Unfortunately this time it’s terminal.

I asked Guy to choose a charity for me, to try to raise some funds and Guy has chosen Wiltshire Air Ambulance as he saw through his fire service work how essential their work is.

My challenge is to cover 1083 miles in 10 weeks. I have my alarm set early in the morning, starting my day with a long walk around my home town of Trowbridge during lockdown 3. I continue to walk throughout the day when time allows, to cover my daily target.

Wish me luck and thank you for reading.

I also send Guy, his family and close friends so much love at this difficult time.
