For the past few years my son Zak has been lucky enough to play ice hockey for SPICE Jets in two international tournaments held in Canada.  With the support of SPICE Jets, Zak’s self esteem improved hugely and he was given the opportunity to shine in a unique sport.  I on the other hand had the easy job...................all I had to do was get him to training and sit in a freezing cold rink and yes more often than not with a hangover (Sunday morning training). 

Friends of SPICE have over the past few years been able to cover all costs (except travel) of attending the International Tournaments (SHI) and the money raised has always come from a few dedicated supporters of SPICE.  We have benefitted from this and will always be hugely grateful.

Zak has been offered a place to attend SHI 2019 in Toronto and it would be great if you could help support all the families attending.  Many of the families have more than one child with additional needs and have little or no respite care.  Attending the SHI tournament gives them the chance to have fun and be themselves, whilst making memories and achievements beyond their wildest dreams! 

Many families at SPICE with children and young adults face daily challenges without a second thought so I thought I’d set my own daily challenge!!  YES that’s right no alcohol for 90 days!!!!! Ok don’t panic it’ll be over before you know it and I’m sure I can reward you with a FB live when it’s all over. 

Two more things, I’m throwing in a 24 hour Triathlon in a gym with other supporters of SPICE.  We’re covering 3,600 miles, the distance between Slough and Toronto.  Finally, I’ve set myself the goal of running for a bus, whoops sorry a 5k!!  I can’t even run for a bus currently.
