Story
The start of 2021 felt very cruel and unjust for our family, we were told our beloved Grandad Roger had terminal cancer, which was heartbreaking for us all, especially after not spending much time together in 2020 due to Covid restrictions.
Our wonderful, fun, loving Grandad passed away at the Marie Curie hospice in Bradford on 6th July 2021. His last moments were very peaceful, surrounded by his loving family. We can't commend the care and support that we received from Marie Curie enough.
This page was created to raise funds for this incredible cause. Marie Curie is the UK's leading end of life charity and provides comfort, care and support to those dying of terminal illnesses. The Marie Curie Bradford Hospice costs £6144 per day to run. Our aim is to continue supporting this amazing charity so that others are able to receive the same wonderful care and support that our family received during such a difficult time.
Over the course of 2022 and beyond I will be doing as much as I can to raise funds for Marie Curie. In the mean time I will be running a big Raffle from the support of local businesses and Bake Sales to raise as much money as possible! Every penny counts, big or small please donate to this amazing charity.
The Marie Curie Bradford Hospice supports people living with a terminal illness and those closest to them to live as well as possible. The Hospice is often very different from what people expect it is a warm, friendly space with beautiful gardens, delicious home-cooked food and personalised care. Every person is treated as an individual and helped to reach their goals and fulfil their wishes. A team of nurses, doctors, social workers, physiotherapists, chaplains, bereavement counsellors and pharmacists work together, putting every person at the centre of their care. Throughout Covid-19 Bradford Hospice teams have been working around the clock to continue supporting local people. Death, dying and bereavement is at the forefront of peoples minds and Marie Curie knows what a difference the right care at the end of life can make. They can't do any of this without your support. Thank you for your generous donation which supports the Bradford Hospice and Marie Curie care.
