South CANUM Ultra · 13 November 2022

Velindre Cancer Charity helps deliver exceptional cancer services to over 1.7 million people across South East Wales. We help pave the way for a future with world-class, research-led treatments and supportive care that can change lives. Together, we will achieve Victory Over Cancer.

Story

Having spent most of 2022 sitting on the sofa, 2023 seemed like the time for a new challenge. Having done a few marathons and half marathons before, I wanted to find something that would really push me, alongside a worthy cause to keep me motivated.

I’ll be completing:

  • Newport Half Marathon (5th March 2023)
  • Barcelona Marathon (19th March 2023)
  • South CANUM 40 mile ultra (1st April 2023)
  • Blenheim Palace sprint triathlon (3rd June 2023)

I’ll be doing all of this in aid of Velindre; a number of people very close to me have been touched by cancer in recent months, and I know that the desire to make a difference will motivate me through what is doubtless going to be a difficult few months.

Velindre, the Hospital of Hope has been providing specialist treatment and supportive care to cancer patients and families for over 65 years. Money raised for Velindre Charity helps fund ground breaking research and clinical trials, cutting edge treatments, specialist nurses, support services, therapies, equipment and so much more which are above those provided by the NHS – so donations really do have a significant impact on patients and their families. Your donation will allow Velindre to continue to provide Hope for the future.
