Brighton Marathon 2023 · 2 April 2023 ·

We’re the only charity fighting to end child abuse in the UK and Channel Islands. That’s why we help children who’ve been abused to rebuild their lives, we protect children at risk, and we find the best ways of preventing child abuse from ever happening.

Story

You know when you’re scrolling through TikTok and you’re hit with all these really sad videos about children who are mistreated, cold, alone.. well they’ve struck a nerve and now I’m running a marathon.

I can run a 5k, I’ve even struggled through a 10k charity run but a marathon seems pretty impossible, but here we are. I’ll be honest, I’m not the kind of person that could be a social worker or a nurse, and I faint at the sight of anything slightly uncomfortable - so hopefully the 23 weeks of training I’m about to put myself through, polished off with a 26.2 mile run will go some way to making a slight difference.

In all seriousness, the cause impacts me on a personal level, life is hard enough without being brought into a world of neglect and suffering. Any donations are certainly appreciated, keep me accountable and spur me on to reach my goal.

Thanks for reading, and if you see me in person, please give me ibuprofen and a high five👋🏼🏃‍♀️
