💙 90 Miles for Diabetes UK 💙
This November, i’ll be walking 90 miles to raise money for Diabetes UK, a charity that means so much to me personally.
I’ve been living with Type 1 Diabetes for 22 years and although it’s something i’ve learnt to live with, it’s a condition that never gives you a day off.
Living with Type 1 Diabetes means making hundreds of decisions every single day. From calculating insulin doses, checking blood sugar levels and counting carbohydrates, to thinking about how exercise, stress, illness, hormones and even the weather might affect my blood sugars.
It’s constantly there, in the back of my mind. Even the simplest things, like going for a walk, eating a meal or going to sleep, require extra thought and planning.
It’s not just the physical side of diabetes, but the mental load of managing a condition 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. It can be exhausting, frustrating and overwhelming at times, but it’s also taught me resilience and strength.
After 22 years, I know just how important awareness, research and support are for people living with this condition.
I’m taking on this challenge not just for myself, but for everyone living with Type 1 Diabetes, especially those who are newly diagnosed and still finding their feet.
Every donation, no matter how small, will mean so much and help Diabetes UK continue its important work supporting people affected by diabetes and funding vital research.
90 miles, 30 days, and one cause very close to my heart 💙
Thank you so much for your support! xx
