Event: Race the Sun Brecon Beacons 2022, on 11 June 2022
Teams of four will be setting off at sunrise on this Triathlon-style adventure challenge aiming to finish before the sun sets! Teams will cycle, hike and canoe around the breath taking Brecon Beacons.

Story

I have decided to take part in this tough 1 day dawn to dusk endurance race on 11th June 2022 along with 3 other slightly mad members of Burghfield Ladies FC to challenge myself as well as raise money for a great cause.

The day will involve us cycling 55 miles around the incredible winding lanes of the Brecons, navigating a 2-mile course on Derwent Water, and finally and 8 mile hike summiting Pen Y Fan, the highest mountain in the Brecon Beacons with an altitude of 886m.

We are raising money for Action Medical Research, who are the leading UK charity funding vital research to help defeat the diseases that devastate the lives of sick and disabled babies, children and young people. By supporting us, you are helping to find ways to reduce premature birth, to support children facing a lifetime of challenges caused by disabilities, and to develop cutting-edge therapies for rare and incurable diseases.

I never like asking for money, but if you could spare even a small amount for a great cause, myself and my team mates will be massively grateful.

Thank you!

Sophie
