Sophie's London Marathon quest

London Marathon 2018 · 22 April 2018 ·
This is a great charity doing very important work into understanding why people have strokes.
My husband Marcus experienced a fierce stroke that was sudden, and unexplained. He is one of the growing number of younger people affected by this frightening and often devastating condition which can hit in so many different ways.
I want to raise money and awareness of the need for more research into the what, why and how of brain attack.
To quote one of the doctors treating Marcus: 'we still know very little about the brain and why these things happen'. That needs to change.
Marcus is one of the lucky ones, but his life has been changed and continues to be shaped by the effects of stroke, and the looming threat of further attacks.
I have wanted to tackle the London Marathon since watching the first event in 1981, standing in Westminster, totally in awe. I was 13, the age my daughter, Hope, is now. It's taken me 37 years to do it, but here I am, determined and excited to take part on April 22nd.
Please help me raise money for the Stroke Association, and support my near life-long ambition to run this amazing race.
Thank you for anything you can give. I really appreciate your support.
