Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Hi, my name is Sophie and I am a member of 2nd Lanark Scouts in South Lanarkshire, Scotland. I have been selected to attend the 25th World Scout Jamboree, in South Korea, representing Clyde Scouts as one of 40 Explorer Scouts and leaders attending as part of of the UK Contingent and one of only 216 Scouts and Explorers who have been selected to represent Scotland from the thousands who applied.

In November 2021 I attended a selection event where I was judged against other Scouts on multiple objectives such as teamwork, leadership, communication skills and creativity and am very excited to have been successful in selection against some tough competition. I will join the other 3240 Scouts as part of the UK contingent to travel to South Korea in August 2023.

The world Scout Jamboree takes place every 4 years and in 2023 will take place in SaeManGeum, South Korea. Around 50000 young people will be attending from almost every country on Earth. The Jamboree is a skills, cultural and adventure festival, offering young people the chance to learn new skills that they can use in other aspects of their life as well as campaign for change on key world issues that matter to them. For me, this is an opportunity of a lifetime.

On the 30th April my Dad and. I will be taking part in the Kilt Walk to raise money for Clyde Scouts to help get us to Korea. Any donation would be very great fully received.
