In memory of Elsie & Reginald Barrance
Story
Thank you for choosing to help me celebrate my 40th Birthday Life Begins theme by generously donating to the Alzheimer's Research Trust.
This charity helps me to give thanks for the lives of Elsie and Reg Barrance. Elsie was my great Aunt who loved me as a child and taught me to appreciate that quality goes much further than quantity in giving joy and celebrating life. It also helps me to remember Reg who looked after her at home throughout her long illness.
It also helps me to recognise my work at the ABPI in helping the Right Medicine get to the Right Patient at the Right Time, and in particular stop the post-code lottery and the attempts of NICE (the body which controls purchasing for the NHS) to stop Alzheimer's patients from benefiting from innovative drugs developed by our member companies at the time they received marketing authorisation following succesful clinical trials.
