Winter Walk - London · 11 September 2017
I am raising money by completing the London Winter Walk (20km) on January 14th for Beat.
As many of you know I work with young people who have an eating disorder. This illness takes control over the young person's life, as well as their family and friends. The recovery journey for the individual; and the people in their life, is hard and exhausting; to say the least. The young person needs a lot of unconditional support and encouragement from family, friends and professionals.
Beat is the UK’s eating disorder charity. Their vision is an end to the pain and suffering caused by eating disorders. They offer awareness training in schools and workplaces, and a HelpFinder service to help people find treatment in their area. They help healthcare professionals to recognize the thoughts and feelings that cause these mental illnesses, rather than focusing on physical symptoms, so that they can provide the best possible care for their patients.
Beat receives no government funding, so they rely on the generosity of their supporters to help them continue their important work.
