Pain Concern is a UK charity dedicated to improving the lives of those living with chronic pain. We provide trusted information through our magazine Pain Matters, leaflets, and helpline. We aim to improve pain services and deepen understanding of the challenges faced by people living with pain.

Story

Hi friends! As many of you know, I live with fibromyalgia, a lifelong condition that brings daily pain, fatigue, and a lot of unpredictability. Because of that, exercise can be challenging… but it’s also something I genuinely enjoy and want to keep doing.

This year, I will be taking on a new (slightly insane) challenge to raise awareness of chronic pain and to support others like me by fundraising for Pain Concern. I’ll be following a “fibro-friendly” 18 week training plan which is slower, longer, and much gentler than a standard plan. It’s designed to make space for flare-ups and fatigue, and hopefully will show the realities of living with this condition and the extra effort it takes to stay active. I am mindful, however, that everyone experiences fibromyalgia differently and that many would not be able to attempt such a challenge.

A fun fact: I will have Jacob running with me as my pacer and encourager!!

I would love and appreciate support through donations at the link below. Christian friends, I would also appreciate lots of prayer as I seek to care for my body whilst also pushing it to its limits!
