The JDRF One Walk is a friendly, inclusive 5k walk which has something for all ages and abilities. Join local families affected by type 1 diabetes and millions of others around the globe all taking steps to bring us closer to the cure.

Story

Sophie was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes at just 18 months old.

Thanks to the research and dedication from JDRF, the current technology available is allowing Sophie to lead a more ‘normal’ childhood. Sophie has an insulin pump and Continuous Glucose Monitor (CGM) which means we no longer have to inject Sophie a minimum of 4 times per day and have a better idea of her blood glucose readings throughout the day and night. This is a very different picture to how my childhood was with injections and finger pricks 6+ times per day.

JDRF require funds to continue their research into technology, stem cell therapy and ultimately to find a cure/prevention for Type 1 Diabetes.

Last year your kind generosity helped raise over £2,250 for this amazing organisation!! This year we would like to try and raise as much funds as possible to continue this vital research to improve the lives of all people living with Type 1 Diabetes.
