Southsea Seals Relay Channel Swim · 16 September 2022

Every two hours someone in the UK is paralysed by a spinal cord injury. It can happen to anyone at any time and no one is prepared for how it will change their life. Aspire is a national charity that provides practical help, supporting spinal cord injured people from injury to independence.

Story

This year marks ten years since I first swam the Channel with my wonderful team of Seals, and we thought...why not do the whole thing again to mark our Channel-versary!? Clearly, we may be 10 years older but we're not 10 years wiser...

With three original Seals, one Penguin and a couple of extras we found hanging round the local pool and strong-flippered into joining us (ha!), we'll be training throughout 2022 ready to swim another relay in September. Aspire were the charity who brought us all together in the first place, so it seems fitting to raise some money for them again to continue the fantastic work they do for those who have been paralysed by Spinal Cord Injury, supporting them from injury to independence.
