We are dedicated to improving the quality of life and chances of survival for young cancer patients aged 13-24. We fund and build specialist units in NHS hospitals and provide dedicated staff, bringing young people together so they can be treated by teenage cancer experts in the best place for them.

Story

Sophie made this heartfelt speech at a fundraising event in March 2013. Sadly she lost her life in September of that year.

This is Sophie's story...
“I spent time on a normal adult ward and the TCT ward, the difference in the experience is immeasurable. On a adult ward it can be overall more negative, surrounded by people at the end of their lives often due to their age. You feel bad and like you are the only person your age, it’s a scary isolating experience and its hard to stay positive. When I walked into the TCT ward you are hit by a light positive atmosphere, greeted by bright colours and often the sound of laughter or light music in the background. There is always something going on, mothers chatting in the corridor, movie nights with popcorn to a

fun game of pool. There are many places to hang out with a variety of activities to take your mind off your symptoms. It is a funky environment full of young people where there is less focus on the disease more on the future and trying to laugh through it. It is so much easier to stay positive in an environment like this.“
