Sorcha's UK 3 Peaks Challenge page

UK 3 Peaks Challenge · 28 June 2019
Hey , thank you for looking at my JustGiving page.
This is something I haven't really spoken about to many people, as I think I am probably still in shock/denial of what is happening. But as some of you may or may not know, in August my baby cousin Benjie was diagnosed with Leukaemia Cancer. At only 2 1/2 years old this was the biggest and most devastating shock to all of our family, especially as not even a week before I had taken him to Legoland and had the best day! The second bombshell of bad news came 2 weeks later when we found out that he has AML (acute myeloid leukaemia) which is an even rarer form of leukaemia.
Benjie is currently on the biggest journey that he is ever going to have to face. This week he is undergoing his 3rd round of chemotherapy, and we are all praying that he can carry on being the strongest little boy (as he has been the whole way through), with a massive smile on his face.
It is an immense lifestyle change to all of us. I have now moved in with my Aunt and Uncle to help look after their other twin girls. Alongside everyone in my family adjusting hugely, to play a massive support to not only Benjie, but to my aunt and uncle. And I am so enormously proud of them all.
My uncle (Benjie's dad) is turning 50 next year, and with this massive news has decided that he would like us to do the 3 Peak Challenge raising money for Bloodwise. Which is why I think that its probably time to share our story, to raise money and awareness.
Bloodwise are the UK’s leading leukaemia research charity and play such a vital part to those suffering with AML, I would love if you could support us on this expedition.
No matter what, at the end of this all this, this is Benjie's journey and he has such a long way to go, but he also has come such a long way and we are so so proud of him!
