Oprah Winfrey ran the marathon in 4:29:20. Am I enough of a strong independent male to beat her?

Paris Marathon 2013 · 7 April 2013 ·

We are based in Southampton helping children, young people and adults with a learning disability and their family carers. We work to raise awareness to their rights, alongside the direct provision of a range of services. We also take great pride in remaining small, local and strong.

Story

Contrary to what you might think, Southampton Mencap is not financially supported by national Mencap. They are a small Southampton charity dedicated to improving the lives of people affected by learning disabilities.

My girlfriend Tammy has two young boys with autism and the services and clubs provided by Southampton Mencap have given her some much needed respite. In fact, she believes in them so much she got a job there!

For this great cause, I'm going to try and beat Oprah Winfrey's time at the Paris marathon in April. This is a new challenge for me so please show your support and appreciation of my pain through a cheeky little donation (or a massive generous one). Plus, why not follow at @SotonMencap to see how I do.

Thanks
