Story
We are taking on the Amman Marathon to support Islamic Relief in providing a sustainablesource of clean drinking water.
With the largest economy in eastern and central Africa, Kenya’s commercial capital Nairobi is a bustling economic hub. However, rural vulnerability to severe droughts has led to food and water shortages, meaning locals relying on livestock have become destitute and families are now left vulnerable to malnutrition.
To help, Islamic Relief aims to empower vulnerable communities through the provision of water and education. Islamic Relief aims to rehabilitate 3 boreholes and equip two with solar panels to provide vulnerable communities with safe and clean water for years to come. This will allow community members to access water to drink, wash and use for agriculture.
Furthermore, water tanks and latrines will be constructed in two schools and Islamic Relief will invest in school equipment such as desks and wheelchairs and invest in teaching, learning and recreational school materials to combat the issues around access to education.
Islamic Relief's long-term livelihood projects are working to help communities become resilient and secure, no matter the weather.
Islamic Relief has provided vital aid over the years, donate to our page now and continue to support their lifesaving work.
