We're working on updating the library classroom to allow faculty to engage in pedagogical best practices for information and digital literacy! To create a space suitable for active learning, the library classroom needs updated furniture that allows for flexibility in seating arrangements that facilitates collaboration and technology use. As information literacy is one of the student learning outcomes for campus, this is directly linked to our effectiveness in teaching to our campus-wide outcomes.

Active learning changes lives and is part of providing an excellent academic education. Especially exciting is the overwhelming evidence that active learning narrows achievement gaps for underrepresented students in STEAM fields. Our goal is to convert the classroom into an active learning environment dedicated to advancing informational and digital literacy outcomes for students. Our proposed upgrades will improve the classroom experience and academic outcomes for students.
