Help us bring community-based art to life at South Seattle College! We are excited to create catalysts for community connections through student plays, film screenings, public mural activations, and hands-on workshops in ceramics, printmaking, and creative writing. Your support will fund opportunities for artists and students to share their stories through art! Together, we can create and nurture a meaningful space for creativity to thrive and community to grow.

Funds raised will support art programming and the creation of a new mural on campus. Last year we were fortunate to receive a grant to fund our first mural at South Seattle College. The grant funding allowed us to create a beautiful process for bringing students and community together, which has meaningfully boosted campus morale. We would love to be able to do this again to continue involving the broader community and continue to increase the sense of belonging on campus for students. Our project will engage students in the process in the same way the current mural has activated the campus community.

Unfortunately, we do not have access to the funds we need to pay for more art projects due to the extreme budget issues happening at the Seattle Colleges. We are fundraising to continue to cultivate art experiences for students on campus. The bulk of these contributions will fund high quality paneling and paint needed for the mural and the payment to the artist for designing the mural. We would love to be able to continue to hire artists to create artwork that shares community stories and student stories, as we have done with the first mural.
