Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our page.

A number of us from the Southampton University Feminist Society have chosen to sleep outside SUSU for a night in order to raise money for Southampton Women's Aid, who do vital work for those who do not have a safe place to sleep at night.

Domestic abuse is, sadly, very prevalent in our society and yet there is unfortunately less and less support and funding for centres such as Women's Aid, who not only support women experiencing abuse but also visit schools and counsel children to discuss healthy relationships and provide a safety net for those who may have nobody else to turn to.

We do not want to let anybody slip through the cracks or become even more vulnerable due to brutal funding cuts. Everybody deserves to live without fear and nobody should have to face abuse alone.

Therefore, we are donning our onesies, grabbing some cardboard boxes and making the cold hard bricks our bed for the night. If you see us there, please donate the odd pound or two. If you don't, please sponsor us whatever you can, anything is appreciated and we will be one step closer to combatting domestic abuse
