Southwark Refugee Crisis - Behind the Headlines · 7 May 2016

SDCAS aims to relieve poverty and distress among asylum seekers and refugees in the London Borough of Southwark. Since the start of the pandemic, SDCAS has been providing urgent services including a weekly food bank, deliveries, and a remote advice service. Thank you for supporting our vital work.

Story

The monies raised will be divided between Southwark Day Centre for Asylum Seekers, Southwark Refugee Project and Southwark Refugees Communities Forum.  Between us we have lost a much needed £150k in funding.  This is a huge amount of money and is severely affecting those we aim to help, at a time when it's never been needed more.

  • £3 - Would pay for toiletries or a meal

  • £5 - Blanket for a refugee

  • £10 - Travel card

  • £25 - Lunches for 30 destitute asylum seekers
  • £50 - 10 English dictionaries for refugees or expenses for ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages) volunteer teachers for 10 weeks
  • £100 - Would help pay the rent for a week at of one of our centres or pay our much needed volunteers out of pocket expenses
