Everest at Home
Campaign by Gurkha Welfare Trust (RCN 1103669)
Ever thought about scaling the heights of the great Mount Everest, well why not try it from the comfort of your own home this May?! Take on this epic challenge during isolation, conquer within 12 weeks and earn your medal!

Story

I used to imagine that one day I'd do something gruelling and brave, like, oh I dunno, climbing Everest. So lockdown gives me the PERFECT OPPORTUNITY to do so without any risk to my health - that's unless the dog trips me up.

So, starting on 1st May, I will be climbing the height of Mt Everest using my stairs at home. To reach the 8,848m summit, I’ll be climbing my stairs 3,350 times over the next 12 weeks, which works out at 280 times a week and 40 times a day…

I’ll be raising money for The Gurkha Welfare Trust https://www.gwt.org.uk/ which my Mum used to contribute to. They do crucial work in Nepal providing financial, medical and community aid to Gurkha Veterans, their families and wider communities, which is sadly necessary but done with grace, commitment and positivity.

As we all know times are hard, but any donations you can give towards this challenge, big or small, will be very, very gratefully received and will go towards supporting the amazing work The GWT do, especially now when they are most vulnerable.
