Denbies 5km / Denbies 10 mile runs · 11 April 2010
Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.
Six colleagues have decided to be healthy this year and thought a great way to spur us on would be to raise a bit of money for a great charity. Even a tiny donation will make us more determined to complete our runs. Some of us will be jogging (certainly not running!) 10 miles whilst others will be completing 5km. Both distances represent a difficult but (I’m sure) rewarding challenge to each individual, with a bit of training and support I know we WILL complete them. Or else no bacon sarnies at the end people!!
Everyone has heard of the charity Help For Heroes, but do you know how the donations are spent?
Grants are given to various charities and associations that aim to help injured soldiers get their lives back to some kind of normality. Whether soldiers have been mentally or physically wounded, there are a range of services that support the development of the soldiers’ recovery to enable them to go back to serving within their units, or start a new life on . Some of these services include: setting up recovery houses, providing temporary housing for relatives of the injured so that they can remain close by, troop aid for those currently going through Selly Oak, adventure training for both the disabled and recovering, supporting treatment centres’ which are helping those suffering with mental illnesses ………..and much more!!!
Please donate even just a few pounds. We’re putting ourselves through a little bit of pain and hard work to complete these runs, but its not much when you think about what our armed forces are doing for us and for other countries.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - we raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
So please dig deep and donate now.
