As some of you may know, Matt Sparkes and I have decided to ride the Coast to Coast from St Bees, Cumbria to Robin Hood's Bay, North Yorkshire on the 16th June.

Over the last couple of years I have lost two friends to cancer and seen another three family members successfully fight it. Now this doesn't make me unique in any way, as I'm certain that the majority of you will know someone who has, had, or has beaten cancer.

The one thing that has become clear to me over these last few years is the immeasurable support that charities such as Macmillan Cancer Support give to those with cancer and their families.

Which leads me into doing something as daft as riding the Coast to Coast. In itself maybe not too difficult, but we’ll be doing the 150 miles, in a day, over some of the hardest climbs in England. Ouch.
