We support the Wessex Neurological Centre to enhance the quality of patient care

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

My beautiful sister-in-law passed away in April 2022 after suffering a haemorrhagic stroke.  She was looked after by the wonderful staff at the Wessex Neurological Centre at University Hospital Southampton until she was transferred to St Michael's Hospice, Basingstoke where she tragically died.

In October of last year I lost a wonderful cousin who suffered a burst brain aneurysm.  He was also cared for by the Wessex Team but sadly he was unable to survive.  I am also running in his memory. Rest in peace Alex.

The Wessex Neurological Centre is one of the largest and most highly respected neurological centres in the UK, providing acute and specialist care to patients from across Hampshire, Dorset, Wiltshire, West Sussex, the Isle of Wight and the Channel Islands. With your support, Smile4Wessex aims to make it even better by funding cutting-edge equipment and facilities that enhance the range and quality of treatment available, and by sponsoring pioneering research into new treatments for a variety of neurological conditions.
