I've been lucky to be selected to run the 2020 Virgin Money London Marathon and raise funds for Sparks, a charity that funds pioneering research and treatments that help children in the UK who have rare and complex conditions. And while I didn't have the chance to run an actual real marathon on the Streets of London, I did do a virtual marathon (while running, walking, jogging - you name it!) in October 2020. 

Due to the pandemic economic impact, Sparks have taken the decision to fully merge into GOSH charity. Although Sparks charity doesn't exist as an entity anymore,  its name will live on within GOSH charity. GOSH remains committed to funding paediatric research nationally and so do I!

I now have a second chance to run the 2021 Virgin Money London Marathon and raise funds for GOSH and make a real difference to the lives of many children who suffer from rare and complex diseases. Unfortunately, I have not been able to run the 2021 London Marathin due to a foot injury. 

There is this saying... third time lucky! Let's hope that it will apply to me as well as I got a third chance to un the 2022 Virgin Money London Marathon and raise funds for GOSH in October 2022.

Sparks Charity history - the charity was set up by football legend Jimmy Hill and cricketer Jim Laker and stood for 'Sports People Aiding Research for Kids', with much of Sparks' fundraising revolving around the sport network. Since then, the Sparks fundraising network extended and funded over £30 million of research into over 80 childhood conditions.
