Spartan Ireland Virtual Race for the NHS - 24th May 2020

Spartan Virtual Race for the NHS · 18 April 2020
The free-to-enter Spartan Ireland Virtual Race (www.spartanrace.uk/en/virtual-race) will take place in homes and gardens across the world on Sunday 24th May. We are asking participants to donate what they can to help NHS staff fighting COVID-19 on the frontline.
SPARTAN VIRTUAL RACE FOR THE NHS
Following our hugely successful South East Virtual Race in April, we are so proud to announce that thanks to SOS Hydration and Spartan racers donating, over 7,500 hydration sticks were provided to the NHS to help hydrate our heroes.
Dehydration is the number one cause of daytime fatigue and can lead to a loss in cognitive ability and headaches, making the jobs of already strained NHS carers even tougher. NHS frontline carers fighting COVID-19 have reported that dehydration is exacerbated by personal protective equipment (PPE) they now wear to keep themselves and patients safe.
As an oral rehydration solution, SOS is scientifically proven to accelerate rehydration as effectively as an intravenous drip. We are so thankful to all who contributed to ensure we could get these products to the NHS - these pictures we were sent make us so proud of our Spartan racers’ generosity.
Our Ireland Virtual Race takes place on Sunday 24th May and we ask those who take part to donate what they can to the NHS to provide essential support in these difficult times. Together, let's continue to show our respect and gratitude as they work tirelessly in the face of the virus. It's our turn to make sure we look after them, to ensure they can keep doing their vital work.
