Orla's family allowed me to walk with them during a very difficult time - now I will run with Orla's mum Helen.

Working with this family through Helen's pregnancy and planning for Orla's birth and short life played a fundamental part in changing the focus of my midwifery practice.

The care that the whole family received from the Shooting Star hospice team was amazing and enabled them to experience a short time as a family after Orla's birth. I want all families whose children's lives are expected to be short to be able to have access to such care. 

I will run with Helen, remembering Orla and talking about how her very short life has changed so many other lives. She will not be forgotten. If you can spare a few pounds, that will help provide care to other families. Short lives should be the very best they can be. That requires expert support both before and after birth.
