Along with a team of 15 from BMW UK, BMW Financial Services, ALPHERA Financial Services and Alphabet, I will be walking across the scorching hot Sahara Desert in support of Alzheimers Society, with only camels for company. We want to raise loads for this amazing cause that helps people with Dementia live in their community without fear or prejudice until a cure is found.

This is not just a worthy cause - it has particular personal relevance because, after living with multiple sclerosis since her twenties, and yet still managing to do fantastic job raising a rowdy bunch of boys, my mother now has to deal with advancing dementia in her early old age, and although she is far from alone in this, it is going to be even tougher for her and my father given her mobility issues. Unfortunately she is just one of a huge number of people of all ages in similar situations suffering with dementia or Alzheimer’s and its dependent in no small part upon the generosity of ordinary people and charities like The Alzheimer’s Society to provide them with support and help fund vital research.
