I am running the London Marathon in aid of Great Ormond Street Hospital. I consider myself very lucky as my three children (seen opposite) are very healthy and happy. Unfortunately there are many parents who don't have that privilege due to serious health conditions with their children. Great Ormond Street do an absolutely amazing job of helping children, often turning round life threatening conditions.

My last marathon was 2 years ago and at the post race Great Ormond Street Party I got chatting to a guy who looked exhausted but elated. His 9 year old son was running around him full of beans and the family was all beaming with pride of their dad’s efforts. No wonder, as it transpired that he had donated one of his own kidneys 12 months earlier in a life saving operation for his son and he had just completed his first marathon and raised £5000 for Great Ormond Street. I felt very humbled….

That's why I'm tackling my 5th London Marathon to raise money for this terrific cause.
