The creation of a landmark Memorial in the Museum Grounds of seven pilots in life-size cast bronze, depicting a famous photograph taken at RAF Hawkinge by Fox Photos on 29th July 1940. The Memorial will depict seven airmen from No. 32 Squadron.

Story

I'm running in this years RAF London Museum (Hendon) Spitfire 10km in support of The Kent Battle of Britain Museum Trust at Hawkinge. I'm hoping to raise funds towards their most significant project in the fifty-six year history of the Museum which see's the creation of a permanent Memorial to 'The Few' within the Museum Grounds.
The Memorial represents seven Airmen of No.32 Squadron who were famously photographed at RAF Hawkinge on 29th July 1940, and which was taken only a couple of hundred yards from where the Museum is now housed. The Memorial will see the Airmen created in life-size and cast in bronze where they will be siting on the ground in front of the three Gate Guardian Hurricanes. Visitors will be able to touch, interact and walk around and through the installation.
I have specifically asked the RAF Museum/Nice-Work if I can be allocated, and run in memory of young Pilot Officer Keith Gillman; the only of these 7 Airmen killed during the Battle of Britain/WWII, aged just 19 on the 25th August 1940. He was shot down just a few miles off the coast of his hometown Dover.
