Story

This race is something I have wanted to do for around 5 years however life, and the death of my dad just got in the way.  I have never been one to avoid things because the time isn’t right though so 2020 is the time that I will row solo 3000NM across the Atlantic Ocean as part of the Talisker Whiskey Atlantic rowing race.

I will be rowing to raise funds and awareness for MNDA, Inspired by Rob Burrow.  One of those life stopping moments I will always remember when I heard of Rob’s devastating news.  My initial reaction was ‘what can i do or sell to raise money for this guy’,  to be fair, I don't think much of my rugby stuff would have raised much.

I have many memories of watching Rob play.  Rob in the grand final 2011 sticks in my mind where he splits the Saints defence open at the halfway line and jinks his ways past the covering defence, diving over at the side of the posts for the only first half try.....follow that up with some more of his individual skill, feeding Ryan Hall a gift of a try in the corner to get the Rhinos back into the game.

GIANT is the best description for this guy.

Rugby League is a family sport.  It was my families sport, watching and playing.  It has proved time and time again how it draws together, through all clubs when one of its’ warriors needs it.  Now is that time, joining together to raise much needed funds to learn about, and fight this terrible disease.

Thank you all so much for your kind donations
