Hello everyone,

I’m Alfie and as you can see, I’m a very handsome cocker spaniel. I was born in February 2021 but sadly, I didn’t have the best start in life. I’ve lived in six homes now and eventually, because I couldn't find a forever home, became a much-loved, long-term resident at the RATS kennels.

Typical of my breed, I do tend to be very lively and excitable, and I became frustrated easily due to my intelligence and need to “have a job”. Unfortunately, my behaviour was a little unpredictable when I felt overwhelmed and scared, and sadly I have bitten in the past. 

Because I have found it impossible to settle in a home environment, I am now spending the rest of my life in the loving care of all the amazing volunteers at the kennels. Thankfully, this is no hardship for me as I love my life there and I am great friends with my fellow long-termer dogs Andy and Twiggy! The volunteers all adore me too and I love nothing more than my daily long, sniffy stroll through the fields with my favourite walker Jenny.
