Hello and WELCOME to my fundraising Web Page for the London Marathon 2003!
PLEASE consider sponsoring me online. It's the most efficient way for me to raise funds for The Outward Bound Trust, by running the London Marathon on Sunday 13 April 2003! If you are a UK taxpayer, your donation will be increased by almost a third at absolutely NO COST TO YOURSELF.
The Outward Bound Trust is an educational charity, which provides residential outdoor activity courses for disadvantaged young people and inspires individuals to fulfil their full potential through challenging outdoor activities. For many, this is a ONCE IN A LIFETIME experience and can make a huge difference!
The money I raise will go towards putting many more youngsters through the Outward Bound Centres each year, in addition to the 25,000 already passing through.
Both myself and Outward Bound really appreciate your donation. Any amount will make a difference - please try to give generously.
Just like last year, I have managed to team up with "RAF Leeming" and "Thales Merlin" to offer the following wonderful prizes to 2 lucky people, who make a donation of £10 or over:
A TRIP IN THE TORNADO SIMULATOR AT RAF LEEMING
A FRAMED PRINT OF A 100 SQUADRON HAWK AIRCRAFT
Anyone donating £10 or more, will automatically be entered into a draw to win one of these two great prizes!
THANK YOU SO MUCH for helping me towards my target, everyone involved really, really appreciates it. Your donation will receive a warm welcome, especially from the underprivileged youngsters, whose lives it could change forever!
THANK YOU - THANK YOU - THANK YOU - THANK YOU
MARATHON TRAINING UPDATE:
I have now finished my distance training and my final run will be 7 miles on Thursday 10 April. After this I will be putting my feet up and resting until Sunday!!! The weather has been much better than it was for the same training period last year, but the evenings can still be pretty chilly when the sun goes down.
My work colleage (Kev Hutton) who faithfully rode his bike alongside me over the longer distances, will also be glad that they are now over. This was welcome company for the 3.5-4 hour stints and it also meant that he could transport all my much needed liquid refreshment. I also had someone to talk to instead of going mad!
All being well, I hope to be on course for around a 4 Hour finish, however, everything now depends on the day, so good weather, but not too warm please ...
As many of you will know, this is my second attempt at the London Marathon, as I completed it for the first time last year in 4 Hrs 40 Mins. That was also my first ever Marathon, having competed in several Half Marathons previously.
Please watch this space for updates ...
THANKS AGAIN
Sarah
