On September 19th 8 members of Wachovia London Global Rates sales & trading will be joining 650 other runners in full gorilla costumes to run 7km (4.5 miles) around the City of London.

There's no doubt that the Great Gorilla Run will be a lot of fun (I did it last year & although it was a bit hot & sweaty it was certainly a unique experience!), but by getting all dressed up and raising money for the Dian Fossey Gorilla Fund, we will also be helping to tackle a really serious issue. Right now, there are fewer than 650 mountain gorillas left in the world. This precious handful of gorillas are targeted by poachers and illegal game hunters; are threatened by the effects of civil war and human disease and face losing their beautiful forest habitat as a result of deforestation and human encroachment.
