Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Since Springhill Hospice opened its doors in 1989 we have cared for many thousands of people living with life-limiting Illnesses across the Borough of Rochdale, Middleton, Heywood and Littleborough, as well as from parts of Rossendale, Oldham and North Manchester.

All of the services we provide are free of charge, and running costs of the Hospice currently stand at some £2.7m per annum – that’s about £7,400 per day. As we only receive around 30% of these costs from the Local Primary Care Trusts, we need to meet the shortfallt hrough our successful Hospice Lottery, our five very busy Charity Shops, a full calendar of Fundraising Events,Legacies and the generosity of You, the local community.

On 12th June 2011 a group of six - Kieron Maxwell, Kelvin Maxwell, Mark Howarth, Stephen Cheetham, David Drake and Matt Sutton - will be taking on the '3 Peaks Challenge', climbing Ben Nevis, Scafell and Snowdon all within a 24 hour period with the aim of raising as much money as possible for Springhill Hospice

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

So please dig deep and donate now.

The team successfully completed the challenge in 23 hours and 44 minutes exactly - despite a partial closure of the M8 and appalling weather on Scafell Pike - thanks again to everybody who donated to our webpage.
