Lambeth and Croydon Foodbank exists to ensure no-one in Lambeth and Croydon goes hungry, while working towards a community where no-one needs to access a food bank. Last year we provided over 27,000 people with emergency food parcels.

Story

THE MISSION:

As a group we are aiming to cover the 23,618KMs (14,761
miles)
that connect our offices.

Starting in Hamburg, we will travel to Paristhen on to London, all the way through North America over to Shanghaand then a quick trip over Tokyo!

Whether you like to bike 100KMs on a weekend, walk 10KMs per week, or participate in indoor activities like exercise biking or hitting an online Zumba class, each activity will count.

Sunshine or snow, indoors or outside this is just about getting active as a group and collaborating to connect our Square Enix sites.

RULES:

  • Tracking of activities will commence from 02.02.2021.
  • We have set up a Strava Application Team Page to track and monitor our efforts. Please request access via the following link: https://www.strava.com/clubs/SEgetmoving
  • All activity counts, whether it’s a bike ride, a 5k run, a 26-mile marathon effort or just a walk to the shops for some milk for your mid-morning cuppa! Track it or Log it in the Strava App.
  • Strava doesn't log static (non-GPS activity) automatically but please feel free to log this manually in the app. If you aren't sure how to convert your static exercise please use either: 1)the steps reading from your fitness tracker, 2) time (30 min vigorous exercise = 5k, 60min moderate exercise = 10K).
  • It must be your activity – No giving your tracker to your friends or
family to do it for you! And no, driving in your car will not count, we will be moderating.

LONDON CHARITY:

SE London office is fundraising for Waterloo Foodbank, which exists to ensure that no one in Waterloo goes hungry.

For people on low incomes, a sudden redundancy, benefit delay, illness or even an unexpected bill can mean going hungry. Every day parents skip meals to feed their children and people are forced to choose between paying the rent or eating.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, referrals to the foodbank are
up 135%, which means providing food to hundreds of families each week. The foodbank is currently offering a delivery service to every person who is referred (at higher cost to themselves). This means that your donations are extra appreciated at the moment!
