Vertical Rush 2014 · 4 March 2014 ·

We exist to defend the right to a safe home and fight the devastating impact the housing emergency has on people and society. We believe that home is everything.

Story

A team of us have signed up to scale the 920+ steps of Tower 42 in two weeks time.  In short, we are taking on the Vertical Rush 2014 challenge and aiming to complete the climb in under 9 minutes.

The Squirrel Power team is made up of Kam Binning and Chris Dodson of ACE, Luke Johnson of Sedgwick, Donal Clark and Karoon Akoon both of Kennedys.

However, there is a second string to the challenge and this is where you can help.  Our team is looking to raise funds to support the UK’s homeless.   In the current economic and environmental climate, the plight of the UK’s homeless is especially difficult.  Shelter is the largest charity dealing purely with the UK’s homeless.  They undertake a wide range of projects including counselling, temporary shelters, free kitchens and more.  Whilst their dedication and own fundraising efforts are producing results, they continue to require funding in order to maintain their great work.

We could use whatever support you feel you can give.  Feel free to leave us an encouraging message when you donate, or just mention the madness of attempting all those stairs. There will be pictures of the “before” and “after” following the event on 4 March.

Thank you for your help for this great cause.
