We fight for the hope of young people to create a society built for all children

Story

Children in this country are facing multiple problems that are leaving them overwhelmed. They feel alone, unloved and don’t know where to turn. By supporting The Children’s Society, you’re helping these children get the help they urgently need. Their supporters around the country fund our services, volunteer with us, and join their campaigns to show children and young people they are on their side. Together we make a real and positive difference to the lives of children in this country. With your support we can change the lives of even more.

At Surrey Soccer Schools, every Saturday morning we have been providing free virtual soccer skills sessions that are available to all children. They just need a device with internet connection, a ball and two objects that can be used as cones. However, there are many who do not have access to a device, the space, equipment or environment to take part in our sessions.

As co-founders of Surrey Soccer Schools, we are also teachers and feel a responsibility to support all children. We understand the importance that familiarity and routine that a school provides .

Teachers are often a trusted adult who children are able to reach out to. The closure of schools puts many children at risk. Unfortunately there is currently an increase in domestic abuse, and there is likely to be an increase in children who are at risk but are unable to reach out. It is therefore more important than ever to support those charities who support vulnerable children and give them the best possible chance in life.

This is why, we at Surrey Soccer Schools have decided to support the The Children’s Society.  We will support them to help towards supporting all children from disadvantage. Their dedicated project workers and volunteers tackle child poverty and neglect head-on. Together they help families trapped in debt, support young carers and runaways and stop exploitation.

To raise the much needed funds we are going to charge a small one-off fee for our virtual soccer training session. There is also an opportunity for people to donate on this JustGiving page.

We have invited professional players from Chelsea FC and Fulham FC to deliver ball skills to the children. Music producer Franky Wah has given us permission to use his latest track ‘Come Together’ to support the campaign.

These are such challenging times for us all. We really do appreciate any amount of donation that you can spare. This really is a cause that can help towards making a difference to a child’s life. Your donation will go towards The Children’s Society and be used where there is greatest need:

One of 100 services/hubs.
Outreach work with children and young people in the community.
The Include Young Carers Service.

Thank you so much for your support. Together we can get through this by supporting mental health and the well being of ourselves and others.
