St Anne's Walk for Water

St Anne's is raising money for The Catholic Agency for Overseas Development (CAFOD)

St Anne's Walk for Water · 4 February 2021

Walk for Water with CAFOD this term. You'll be joining in spirit with Catholic schools across England and Wales who are all walking for water so that other people, like Abdella in Ethiopia, don't have to.

Story

After watching the Water of Life National Assembly, we felt that we wanted to make a positive contribution to ending water poverty. Walk for Water is a challenge to walk and raise money for those who do not have access to water. Please sponsor us as we walk to help those in need.

We will be raising money for people like Abdella who is 23 and has been walking for water daily since he was 10 or 11 years old. Abdella lives in Afar, Ethiopia - one of the hottest places on earth. Like hundreds of people in the area, he spends most of every day getting water for his family. With a water point nearer his home, Abdella's family would no longer have to worry about getting enough to stay alive and Abdella could start on the dreams he has for the rest of his life. Please support this  so that CAFOD local experts can give communities like Abdella's the support they need to.

How can your sponsorship help?

£10 can buy a water container for a family

£40 can buy safe water for a school

£200 can buy bikes for a team of three water engineers to service water pumps in remote communities.
