We tackle poverty with practical assistance to fight disadvantage

Story

We have heard firsthand from a family of Ukraine about the horrendous journey they had to make after fleeing the war in Ukraine.

A Ukraine lady Julia, who is a family member and lives in Southend took all 10 into her home. They were all overwhelmed when they arrived at St Vincent’s Centre and they were able to receive enough food to support all 10 Ukraine family members who are staying with her. We are really asking the community to help restock our foodbank as it is at its lowest due to the Easter and Ukraine support.

Ukrainian people who come over on a family visa have nothing for the first 8 weeks as they are not entitled to the government money that has been advertised. We need money to buy essential items. We really do need essentials as we see more Ukrainian people arrive so that we can provide the hope that they need. Please share.
