In memory of Michael Towers
We support young people at risk of suicide to stay safe and find hope in times of need

Story

On May 22nd 2021, I will be running 30 miles in memory of Michael Towers and raising awareness of young suicide with the help of PAPYRUS.

Unfortunately, Michael lost his life to suicide 7 years ago on May 19th 2014. Michael would have turned 30 on February 1st 2021 so to represent each year of his life, I will be running a mile. PAPYRUS has been a charity that has been closely followed by Michael's parents, Jo and Chris and his brother, Dave, since his passing and between them, they have managed to raise over £2,500 since 2015. I hope to add more to that total.

PAPYRUS is the national Charity for the Prevention of Young Suicide. Suicide is the biggest killer of young people under the age of 35 in the UK, in 2018 over 1800 young people took their own lives. PAPYRUS provides confidential support and advice to young people struggling with thoughts of suicide, and anyone worried about a young person through their helpline, HOPELINEUK. Every £5 raised can help pay for a life-saving contact to HOPELINEUK. Your donations really are lifesaving, thank you.
