Im doing the race for life on 5th june 2011 to raise money and awarness for alzheimers disease. To me its a death sentance.. Its a nasty desease that eats away at you until you have no pride and independance left,it does eventually kill you.

For me to watch the most inspirational woman in my life,my nan,who i love as much as my own child,is heartbreaking. Theres days where i think of the future of how my nan will deteriate in the late stages of this disease makes me terribly upset,and angry.I would love for her to play checkout with her tins out of the cuboard with my daughter like she did for me when i was a child.but that disease has taken that away from us - she wont know who her great grandchild is one day.. My daughter is 3 now but my nan still thinks shes a baby...

Alzheimers eats away at your brain until eventually the host will be unable to speak,eat,move and wont even know who the people they used to love are anymore. Its very degrading and upsetting.

I want to raise awarness on this disease,its not just where you forget things as some people think.,thats just the top of the iceberg. Its upsetting for the person who has it,aswell as heartbreaking for their loved ones. Please help me raise awarness...

So please dig deep and donate now,lets all help the charity do more research and be able to provide more support because there isnt much out there,if it wasnt for her loved ones my nan would be sat on her own all day and night apart from when the nurse visits now and again,and the reality is there is many people out there with no family who are going through this dreadfull disease alone,and die alone... lets try and make a change..

I Plan to do many more events,keep watching for my blogs in regards to my running training,i am determined and will do this....for nan xxxxxx
