1 in 10 Challenge

1in10 Challenge 2022 · 1 March 2022 to 31 March 2022 ·
I am taking on a 1in10 Challenge to raise vital funds for Endometriosis UK!
Endometriosis is the name given to the condition where cells similar to the ones in the lining of the womb (uterus) are found elsewhere in the body. It is a chronic and often debilitating condition that can cause painful periods, painful sex and pelvic pain outside of periods. It may also lead to bowel & bladder problems, and can result in infertility. The impact can be felt for life and there is no cure.
Endometriosis affects 1 in 10 women and those assigned female at birth which equals 1.5 Million women in the UK. That's as many as diabetes yet very few people have even heard of it.
It costs the UK Economy £8.2 Billion every year in lost working time and healthcare. It takes an average of 8 years to get a diagnosis of endometriosis in the UK, that's too long!
The APPG is seeking a commitment from Governments in all four nations to reduce average diagnosis times with targets of 4 years or less by 2025, and a year or less by 2030.
Your donations will mean that Endometriosis UK can continue to support those affected by Endometriosis through national support groups, information provision and their helpline as well as continue to campaign for change, fairer treatment and eventually a cure.
