Will you conquer the course to help cure type 1 diabetes? Take on our thrilling family-friendly 2km course, obliterating obstacles, dodging mud and getting covered in colour, all while raising money to support type 1 diabetes research.

Story

Type 1 diabetes is an autoimmune condition of the pancreas, not caused by diet, lifestyle or by something someone did or didnt do. Type 1 occurs when the body's immune attacks itself, and kills off the BETA cells required to produce insulin and be able to live..... without insulin, you can't survive.  Its that simple.

Thousands of walkers and runners are raising money Autumn to get one step nearer the cure for type 1, including us taking part in the One Fun Run Aberdeen. We know that the cure is just a matter of time and money. Help JDRF transform lives and gives hopes to those who have to live with this everyday.

Why am I doing this? My son Innes, aged 4 lives with Type 1 and his amazing attitude makes me proud everyday, but I want nothing more than to be able to support JDRF to reach their goal of finding a cure and improving treatment along the way and transforming Innes life and future. .

He needs up to 10 injections a day to stay alive, yet he never complains. The literal blood highs and lows of living with type 1 is daily, 24 hours a day. The real heroes don’t wear capes 😊

Thank you, any support makes a difference Xx
