Story
Last year, Kelly and I completed the Trek26 South Devon Coast challenge to raise funds for Alzheimer's Society. This was a brutal (but picturesque!) 26 miles. This year we are taking on another Trek26 challenge, opting for the Stonehenge event which will take place on the 2nd September. We are doing this challenge in memory of Kelly’s Mum, Ann, who sadly lost her battle with dementia in March 2022. Kelly and I have been friends for over 40(!) years and I have many happy childhood memories with Kelly and her parents. Unfortunately our family have also been impacted by the devastating effects of dementia, loosing my Nan to the disease.
We are taking on this challenge to raise money to support people impacted by dementia. We realise that things are tight for everyone at the moment, but if you are in a position to contribute to our fundraising, it would be very much appreciated! The money raised will support vital research into dementia, and help support other families suffering the overwhelming pain associated with the condition.
Alzheimer’s Society is transforming the landscape of dementia forever. Until the day we find a cure, we will create a society where those affected by dementia are supported and accepted, able to live in their community without fear or prejudice.
